A dental sealant is a thin invisible plastic coating put on the grooves of the back teeth to protect them from decay. Some teeth have crevices that can get food stuck in them and collect germs. The sealant blocks dangerous particles from gathering in those locations and creating degeneration. The majority of kids and teens who get cavities at a young age recommended to get sealants to avoid decay in baby teeth or permanent molars.
Our application of sealants are fast, easy, and pain-free. We start by cleaning the tooth with a tasteless polish then a put on a gel that prepares the tooth to bond with the sealant. The sealant material is applied on the tooth in a matter of seconds. We wash the gel off and the sealant is merely painted onto the tooth. In order for the sealant to harden, we shine a special light onto it. This treatment is effortlessly easy and allows protection for years.
